ORTHOPEDIC PHYSICAL THERAPY
Orthopedic Physical Therapy
In addition to pelvic floor physical therapy, Refine also offers general orthopedic physical therapy. This can range from rehabbing a rotator cuff injury, to an ankle sprain, or knee pain. In fact, a full orthopedic assessment is sometimes crucial to rehabbing pelvic floor dysfunction for full resolution of your symptoms with long-lasting results.
The entire body is connected and having lingering pain and dysfunction in the hips, back, neck, or even the extremities can often contribute to pelvic floor issues. This is especially true if the pelvic floor dysfunction is chronic and has not resolved with the "typical" pelvic floor rehabilitation exercises. This holds true both ways, we need pelvic floor support and stability to rehab and prevent injuries to other body parts as well.

Our bodies have to move synergistically as a unit throughout everyday life and your body cannot move in an optimal way if there is no central core support. Your pelvic floor is the foundation of your core and connects the hips and spine to the lower extremities as well as having correlation to movements in the thorax and upper extremities.

Through orthopedic physical therapy in conjunction with pelvic floor physical therapy you will find the most optimal way to move and use your body with an understanding of the connections to other muscles and body parts. This involves strengthening activities and movements where you are using your pelvic floor and other foundational core muscles to perform compound movements to get your pelvic floor as strong and healthy as possible with every activity in your life!
